Mountaineering and  Climbing in Nepal is one of the prime activities which positions Nepal as ultimate in high altitude mountaineering with no substitute. The fact that Nepal contains over 1310 snow-capped peaks with eight out of 14 peaks above 8000m attracts mountaineering enthusiasts from all over the world. Apart of obvious 8000m expeditions there are many 5800m dream peaks suitable for short expedition for various levels of climber experience.

As per the decision of secretary-level dated 2014/4/29, the insurance amount for sardar, mountain guide and high altitude worker fund is fixed at Rs 15 lakhs. Similarly, medical insurance has been fixed at Rs 4 lakhs. Mountain heli-rescue of 10,000 USD is also required.        
Note: Maximum number of members in a team is 15.        
Garbage deposit to acquire climbing permit will be same i.e. USD 250. The refund shall be made as per the provisions of NMA. 

Climbers will not have to pay any permit fee for following NMA peaks

Itinerary for Peak Climbing:

01:  Tent Peak (Tharpu Chuli  5695m.) climbing: 

Tent Peak, also known as Tharpu Chuli, is a great ‘Trekking Peak’ option in the Annapurna region. Perfect for those looking to step up from trekking to mountaineering, whilst showcasing the best of what the Himalaya has to offer. The route winds through fertile farmland and lush forest, before ascending to Mt Annapurna Base Camp and then on to Tent Peak. From the summit, you will be rewarded by outstanding views across the Annapurna Massif, including Annapurna South and the Fishtail Machhpuchre, which many believe is one of the best in the Himalaya. Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 2: Drive or Fly to Pokhara.
Day 3: Drive to Nayapool and trek to Ghandruk.
Day 4: Trek to Chhomrong
Day 5: Trek to Dovan
Day 6: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,100m)
Day 7: Acclimatisation day
Day 8: Cross glacier to Tent Peak Base Camp
Day 9: Trek to High Camp (5200m)
Day 10: Instruction + acclimatisation day
Day 11: Summit and return to Tent Peak Base Camp
Day 12: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp
Day 13: Trek to Sinuwa
Day 14: Trek to Jhinu Danda and visit hot springs
Day 15: Trek to Kimche and return to Pokhara
Day 16: Free day Pokhara. Option for local sightseeing
Day 17: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu and local sightseeing.

02: Mardi Himal  (5553m.) climbing: 

Climb to the summit of this 5553 m peak enjoy fantastic scenery over the Annapurna Sanctuary. You will find stunning views over Machhpuchhare, Annapurna I, II and IV and Annapurna South as well as the glaciers extending through the valley below. The ascent to the summit requires some easy rock climbing with fixed rope with snow slopes leading to the summit. This peak does not require a climbing permit.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2: Drive or Fly to Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive to Lumbre and trek to Saiti Ghatta

Day 4: Trek to Purungdung

Day 5: Climb to Korchon

Day 6: Trek from Korchon to Base Camp at Thulo Bukeni  (4120m)

Day 7: Trek to High Camp (4470m)

Day 8: Mountaineering skills training and acclimatisation 

Day 9: Summit Mardi Himal Peak (5587m) and return to Pipar Kharka Lake

Day 10: Trek from Pipar Khraka to Karuwa

Day 11: Walk to Kharpani and drive to Pokhara.

Day 12: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu.

Day 13: Fly back to your home.
